Love dance, culture and connection? So do we!
We want to keep our amazing community growing and thriving by bringing people closer together and creating more spaces for connection.
Therefore we’re hosting a Community Meeting! To connect, share ideas and explore new possibilities for Global Kidz & World Dance Academy.
Everyone is welcome – whether you’re a member, parent or just a supporter!
Where to Start?
We’ve identified four areas full of possibilities:
💡 Ideas & Initiatives
Got an idea you’d love to try out? Start a Sunday freestyle session, organise a friendly dance battle, host an open-decks DJ evening, a dance documentary night or a community dinner – or bring something completely different to life!
🎪 Events
Be part of the action! Get involved with our battles, camps and annual shows – from planning and organising to running merch, coordinating volunteers or jumping in wherever needed.
📸 Stories & Creativity
Tell the story of our community! Capture the moments that make our classes and events special, create fun videos for our social media, interview dancers or make mini-documentaries about our teachers. Bring your creativity and help us share what makes our community unique!
🤝 Children & Community
Help children find their way into a community! Get involved in our local outreach activities beyond the dance school, and support our work in creating connections and a sense of belonging for children in the neighbourhood.
Community Meeting
If the above sparks your interest in any way, we’d love to hear it!

Did you know?
Global Kidz & World Dance Academy is a voluntary educational association (in Danish: frivillig folkeoplysende forening). This means we are a democracy: a volunteer board makes the bigger decisions and helps shape the direction of the organisation. It also means that we exist for the benefit of our community – and that you, as a member, can help shape and develop it.
Since its founding in 2009, Global Kidz’s beating heart has been its local social work in Copenhagen’s vulnerable urban areas, creating inclusive, safe spaces where dance reflects and celebrates the children’s cultural roots.
As the kids grew into young adults, World Dance Academy was established in 2015, giving them a space to build confidence, develop personal skills and deepen their dance practice.
Today, the association has 800+ members, 22 teachers, 37 weekly classes and 11 locations across Copenhagen. With just four staff members, it’s a challenge to grow while staying true to our values: inclusion, social work with children, and creating a vibrant cultural community through performances, talks, events, battles and camps.
So, in true Danish association style, we now need you, our members, to help shape and cultivate the community we’re building together.
